Ethan Greene is the director of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC). Studying snow and weather has been an integral part of his life since childhood, having grown up in Boulder, CO and skiing the front range Rockies. He has a bachelors degree in Meteorology, a masters degree in snow drift formation, and a PhD in the microstructure and metamorphism of snow. He has been an active member of national and international working groups on snow and avalanches. He spent several years in the San Juan mountains of Colorado, worked on ski patrol at Big Sky, Montana, and was an avalanche forecaster for the Utah Avalanche Center. At the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, Ethan leads a team of seasoned avalanche forecasters, who share the common goal of saving lives.
